Several Kazakh universities appear in global rankings such as QS and THE, with Nazarbayev University the most internationally recognised name. Rankings are a useful signal, but for most international students they should be one input among several — programme fit, language of instruction, recognition for your career, city and cost often matter more day to day.
Medicine is one of the biggest reasons international students — especially from India and Africa — choose Kazakhstan. English-taught MBBS programmes typically run six years (around five years of study plus a one-year internship) and are structured to international norms.
For Indian students, several leading universities are commonly described as NMC- and WHO-recognised. Under current Indian rules, applicants generally need to be NEET-qualified, and graduates must clear the FMGE / NExT licensing exam to practise in India. Recognition, eligibility and fees vary by university and change from year to year, so always confirm the current details on the specific university and programme pages before you commit.
